Fees and Payments

Here's a quick summary of info about our fees, funding and payment.  Please contact us for more detail or with any questions you may have.

Registration/Administration fee - £35 one-off fee on joining (only charged if you are paying for non-funded sessions between 9am and 3pm)

Booking fee - £30 cash – this is payable once the registration pack has been returned to us and we have confirmed a start date with you. If you are on a waiting list then this is not applicable until we confirm to you that we have allocated a space for your child along with a start date

Early Years Childcare Funding

We are able to offer places for parents/carers wishing to use their funding entitlement as well as non-funded places (or a combination of both).

  • Universal offer: All children aged 3 & 4 years are eligible for a minimum of 15 hours of funded childcare per week from the term after their 3rd birthday.
  • Extended offer: An additional 15 hours per week for 3 & 4 year olds of working families, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.  
  • Funded 2s: Some children are eligible at 2 years, from the term following their 2nd birthday, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

The charges shown above in the ‘Fees’ section do not apply if you are ONLY accessing your funded entitlement with Stretton Pre-School.  However, if a funded child also attends additional non-funded hours then the Registration Fee will still apply.

Please be aware that we are bound by the Government and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) rules regarding changing the number of hours you can claim during a term and changes to your claim.

Whilst we always try to accommodate your requests for changes to sessions it is of course subject to capacity and availability in your child's room. We have upper limits on numbers to ensure we do not exceed the relevant child to adult ratio.

Tax-free Childcare

You may also benefit from tax-free childcare if you are working and we are register to adminster this.  The website  provides information and enables you to check which scheme is best for you.



Fees are invoiced in advance of each month and are payable by the 1st of the month.  If your child starts part way through a month you will receive an invoice immediately for the part-month.  Where fees remain unpaid by the 5th day of the month we reserve the right to withdraw any non-funded hours immediately until payment is received.  If fees remain unpaid by the 7th day of the month a £10 late payment fee will be levied per child.


Please note that where a child does not attend their scheduled sessions due to illness, or other days off at the choice of parent/carers (e.g. holidays), pre-school fees are NOT refunded. 


On occasions where we are forced to close pre-school due to reasons beyond our reasonable control pre-school fees are NOT refunded.  Reasons may include, though not restricted to, adverse weather, lack of essential building services (e.g. plumbing, water, heating etc), outbreak of contagious illness or diseases (e.g. Norovirus).


How to Pay

Our preferred method of payment is by BACs; please see your invoice for our bank details.  Please use your child’s name as a payment reference when setting up your transaction


Alternatively you can pay by any of the following methods: 


    ·      Childcare Vouchers – please advise us of the voucher company name, reference name or number used. Allow up to 5 days for vouchers to reach our account when setting up your payment
